• Kimberly Powell at About.com Genealogy addresses the common myth of name changes at Ellis Island.

• March is Women's History Month, and Lisa Alzo at The Accidental Genealogist shares 31 possible writing prompts.

• Tess Webre at Digital Preservation discusses Forestalling Personal Digital Doom.

• Dick Eastman at Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter provides an annotated list of Genealogy software options for the Macintosh operating system. (My software of choice is still iFamily, but there are an increasing number of options, several of which I haven't tried.)

• Those who wish to become professional genealogists may see some parallels in author, Mary Robinette Kowal's post, Debut author lessons: Writing is No longer a hobby.

• Jonathan Bailey at Plagiarism Today updates readers on the process Congress began in 2006 to create some form of Small Claims Copyright Court. As Bailey explains, most copyright infringements either aren't eligible for lawsuits, or the lawsuits are prohibitively expensive for the infringed.

• Philip Trauring at Blood and Frogs shares tips for those wishing to Use Hebrew and Yiddish in Adobe inDesign.
